Stepnogorsk local history museum

Stepnogorsk local history museum was formed on January 6th. 1994 on the basis of the Hall of Labour Glory of tzelinny mining -chemical combine. As part of ptogramme "Ruhani zhangyru" and by support of Stepnogorsk akimat and LLP "Kazakh Altyn" the overhaul and artistic design works for creation of new exposition were carried out in museum.

Museum exposition consists of 5 halls and every one reflects the history of region since ancient times to present: introductory hall, hall of history and archeology, hall of ethnography, hall of war glory and hall "Modernity".

Introductory hall presents the visitors a map of Akmola region , dioramas "Stepnogorsk", "Extractive mines of Shantube ".

Hall"Nature and archeology" represents the rich archeological material - these are collections of archeological expeditions , taken place in a track "Shondynkorasy" near Stepnogorsk, panoramas "Water World "and "Steppe ".

Hall exposition reflects the life specialities of Kazakh nation, his culture and traditions.

In the "Hall of War Glory " a photo gallery of veterans of the Great Patriotic War and participants of war actions in Afghanistan are presented to visitors. Dioramas show us battle scenes of Great Patriotic war, soldiers ' personal things , letters from the front.

Hall" Modernity " presents industrial enterprises of the town, information stands, models and exhibits, as well as photos, documents and exhibits, connected with town history and his first builders.

Museum cooperates with Rerih society in Novosibirsk. Stepnogorsk local history museum is the organizer and participant in urban events , the auther of projects "Musei bez graniz" and "Kieli zher Stepnogor ".
